Our Charges

Our charging structure is designed to be easy to understand and transparent, and is split into two categories:

  • Initial Charges: These are the upfront costs of our services. We offer several types of initial service depending on your needs.
  • Ongoing Charges: Once your financial plan is in place, it is important to keep it under review so it can be adapted, where necessary, as your circumstances change. Our ongoing services are designed to do this.

All actual charges and fees (in pounds and pence) will be agreed with you before we do any work and we’ll explain your payment options too.

Initial Charges

We are happy to have an initial meeting with you at no cost whatsoever. Such meetings are no-obligation, as you must make the final decision on what to do with your finances and who to get advice from. If you wish to take things further, the costs for reviewing your finances are as follows:

  • Existing policy review: A flat fee of £100, which will be waived if you become a MAP client and subscribe to an ongoing service.
  • Detailed financial planning report: A flat fee of £1,000, which will be waived if you become a MAP client and subscribe to an ongoing service.
  • Defined benefit pension initial review: Otherwise known as abridged advice, a flat fee of £250 is payable. If you proceed to full pension transfer advice, this fee will be deducted from the charge for that service (see below).

If you want to start new policies or add to existing ones, the costs are as follows:

  • Annuities: 2% of the total pension(s) value prior to annuity purchase.
  • Protection/Insurance: We will be paid by commission from the insurer(s) used.
  • Residential Mortgages: A flat fee of £295 and we will also be paid a procuration fee from the lender(s) used.
  • Buy to Let Mortgages: A flat fee of £395 and we will also be paid a procuration fee from the lender(s) used.
  • Equity Release: A flat fee of £295 and we will also be paid a procuration fee from the lender(s) used.

Investments and pensions are charged differently, and are subject to what type of investing you are most comfortable with, but nonetheless are all capped at £40,000. Passive investments, which only use one underlying fund, are charged at 2.5% of the total funds invested/transferred. Active investments, which use a range of underlying funds, are charged on a tiered structure based on the percentage of funds invested or transferred:

Ongoing Charges

Ongoing services are provided as a follow-on to initial services and can be cancelled at any time by informing us in writing. They are completely optional and can be started even if we did not setup your policies in the first place.

We offer three service packages, designed to provide support and periodic valuations and/or reviews for clients with money invested, to ensure their finances continue to be relevant to their circumstances at all times:

  • Platinum Service Package: 1.2% per annum of the total funds invested;
  • Gold Service Package: 1% per annum of the total funds invested; and
  • Silver Service Package: 0.75% per annum of the total funds invested.

Before we provide you with any advice, we will add together all the costs and charges payable so that you are able to understand the overall costs of our services and recommendations. This is referred to as aggregated costs and charges information.
