“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”
Andrew has nearly 36 years experience as an Independent Financial Adviser and started in the industry in 1986 when financial services legislation started in the UK.
He is a qualified accountant by trade and started life as an Officer in the Inland Revenue, so is certainly used to all the taxation aspects of what an IFA does. More so, he is very much used to dealing with other peoples’ finances, and this includes Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax.
It is very relevant that the name of the business is Money Advice & Planning, because like the horse and cart, Andrew firmly believes you can’t have one without the other. Both his and the firm’s approach to financial advice is all about planning, which is what he enjoys about his work the most.
This is especially true of retirement planning, where Andrew is also a qualified Pension Transfer Specialist (PTS). Therefore, he can also assist clients with Defined Benefit (DB) schemes and build them into any plan going forward, either for those in retirement or for those only planning for it.
As Investment Manager of the firm as well as a Supervisor, Andrew started off the investment process for the firm which all advisers work to. This well-practised approach has produced such great results over a long period for our clients. It is not a one-size-fits-all approach but a well practiced service which brings good rewards to clients and offers great value for money, and this is what Andrew brought to the table when the company was formed.
